The impact of PRONTO Training in Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care on 24-hour Neonatal Mortality (PEER) is a project awarded to the University of Nairobi by NAS and USAID. It's objective is to improve 24 hour Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) through PRONTO training.
The Regional Advisor for Sub Saharan Africa at USAID Mr. Jason Porter and Lynette Luseneka the Program Officer for the National Academies of Sciences accompanied by local USAID personnel visited PI awardees of the College of Health Sciences(CHS) and other colleges on Wednesday 15th 2016. They also paid a courtesy call to the Principal of CHS Prof. Isaac O. Kibwage later on holding a meeting with the Dean School of Medicine, Prof. Frederick Were and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Prof. Omondi Ogutu.
