The World Health Organization held a two day training to equip trainees with technical skills for the application of the Odon device. This was done in preparation for the roll-out of a multicountry, multisite study to evaluate the feasibility and safety of the Odon device for assisted vaginal delivery. In Kenya the study will be done at KNH.

Among the trainers was Professor Zahida Qureshi, one of the local PIs. Dr. George Gwako, another local PI and Mark Sigei, the Data Manager in the study were trained.

The WHO’s champion trial, a phaseIII , randomized multicountry, multisite non inferiority clinical trial using Carbetocin room temperature stable for prevention of PPH following vaginal delivery, recently held a collaborators meeting in Cape town.
