The advent of ChatGPT and other large language models have elicited interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI). While there is a strong belief that AI systems can act as a force for the good in addressing societal problems, there appear to be AI systems that may harm society. The big question is how we can take advantage of the AI affordances while limiting its control on human society as we know it. To address this question and how social scientists can immerse themselves in AI related research, the Department of Library and Information Science has organized a workshop titled โArtificial Intelligence: Transforming Society and Academia.โย The details of the workshop are as follows:
