Cabinet Secretary for Health Susan Nakhumicha stated, "Today, I invite Kenyans and all Africans to join me in celebrating Dr. Anne-Beatrice Kihara, the President-Elect of the International Obstetrics and Gynaecologist Society". "Dr. Kihara is the 1st African woman to hold this position and 3rd woman globally to do so. Dr. Kihara is also the youngest President ever to head FIGO". "The inauguration ceremony for Dr. Kihara's appointment will occur during the XXIV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Paris 9-12, October 2023".
