Merck Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Merck KGaA Germany, conducted the 7th edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative - MFFLI Summit 2025 took place on June 19th and 20th in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Professor Wanyoike Gichuki attended the Merck Foundation conference in Dubai and presented a paper. The neighbouring countries are making strides in public IVF. Tanzania has 8 private IVF centres and a public IVF centre, which is already performing IVF. Ethiopia, Uganda and Rwanda have functional public IVF centres.
The Kenyatta National Hospital IVF centre is at Clinic 66, though renovations are at an advanced stage, and completion is expected by September 2025. The IVF Equipment has already been procured and is awaiting shipment once the renovations are complete.
The course Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility has been approved by the Dean's office and is waiting for clearance from the University of Nairobi Senate.
