Prof. Guyo Waqo Jaldesa is currently the newly elected Member of Parliament of Moyale Constituency. Prof. Guyo joined UoN for his undergraduate studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine degree. He also undertook his Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UoN from 1993 to 1997.
He has published many academic papers and conducted a lot of research in Obstetrics and Gynaecology field. He is known for his strong stand against Female Genital Mutilation practice which is very prevalent in the community where he comes from - Borana.
