Promotion to Associate Professor

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Joseph Wanyoike Gichuhi on his well- deserved promotion to Associate Professor.

Prof. Joseph Wanyoike is a distinguished obstetrician, gynecologist, and fertility specialist. He holds an MBChB, an M.Med. in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Nairobi, an MSc in Clinical Embryology and Assisted Reproductive Technology from the University of Leeds, UK, and a PhD in Endometriosis from the University of Nairobi.

Additionally, Prof. Wanyoike has a Diploma in Infertility from the University of Kiel, Germany, a certificate from Tel Aviv, Israel, and training in gynecological endoscopy from Strasbourg, France.

With over 25 years of expertise, Prof. Wanyoike is also the lead IVF specialist at Creation Fertility & IVF Centre in Nairobi, where he provides a wide range of services, including fertility consultations, sperm analysis, IVF and ICSI procedures, preimplantation genetic testing, gamete freezing and storage, as well as comprehensive antenatal and delivery care.

He has authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to two book chapters, and presented about 80 scientific conferences. 

Beyond his professional achievements, he enjoys reading inspirational, religious, and ancient civilizations literature and stays physically active through walking—often opting for the stairs over the elevator - Prof. walks really fast.
