Promoting local tourism industry at the Masai mara national park, Kenya

The promotion of the local attractive destinations has been the key to the success of promoting the country’s tourism industries. However, it leads to competition among the destinations. This competition is a clear key to the long term preference of the tourists and it has been the concern of the government and the local people who depend on the destinations to spur for the economic activities. Thus, the success of a tourist destination depends on the competitiveness of the destination. Making the destination more competitive and attractive is the key concern.

The H.O.D Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prof. Cheserem, the Academic staff Prof. Ogutu, Prof. Obimbo (H.O.D Human Anatomy), and Dr. Wanyoike toured Masai Mara National Reserve located in south west Kenya as an outreach activity promoting local tourism after a work event.

Tourism is vital for the success of many economies around the world. There are several benefits of tourism on in a country.  Tourism boosts the revenue of the economy, creates thousands of jobs, develops the infrastructures of a country, and plants a sense of cultural exchange between foreigners and locals.

Masai Mara is a unique wildlife conservation haven, famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife and happens to be a premier Kenya Safari location in East Africa, offering visitors many reasons to visit this animal paradise. Large numbers of Lions, Cheetah, Elephant, Rhino, African Buffalo, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Zebra and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat, unconfined and free to roam the vast wilderness stretching for miles on end.
