The International Day of Persons with Disability celebrations will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the University of Nairobi. This event will be held in collaboration with key stakeholders and strategic partners to ensure active engagement of students and staff with disabilities.ย

Activities
The main activity during the event will be theย launch of the University of Nairobi Disability Mainstreaming Strategy for the period, 2023- 2025. We shall convene the University of Nairobi Alumni with disabilities as well as those who work in the disability sector and the University of Nairobi Alumni Association leadership during the launch.ย

The following specific activities will takeย place:
- Registration of Persons with disabilities by NCPWD
- Panel Discussion One on:ย โDigital, social and physical accessibility as prerequisites for holistic participation of Persons with disabilities in higher learning institutionsโ
- Panel Discussion Two on:ย โResearch, Innovation and capacity building as Key Pillars for sustainable disability inclusion in higher educationโ
- Artistic Interludes featuring artists with disabilities in their diversity
- Official Launch of the University of Nairobi Disability Mainstreaming Strategy
