A farewell dinner party in honour of our Senior Colleagues who retired recently was held at Tamarind Tree Hotel from 5:30 pm on 17th June 2023. The University of Nairobi, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prof. Cheserem, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Kenyatta National Hospital Dr. Maureen Owiti and academic staff gave farewell speeches.

Dr. John Odero Ong'ech: He was The Chief Medical Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Deputy Director of surgical services at Kenyatta National Hospital. He is a Researcher, Honorary Lecturer at The University of Nairobi, appointed as Safaricom company's medical health advisor, and sits on Safaricom's medical board.
Dr. Khisa Weston Wakasiaka: He is a renowned Obstetric Fistula Surgeon, and was a Senior Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at Kenyatta National Hospital. He is an Honorary Lecturer at The University of Nairobi.
Dr. Kiragu David Kamande: He was a Senior Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at Kenyatta National Hospital. He is now a County Executive Committee member (CEC) in Nyeri County.
Dr. Odawa Francis Xavier Otieno: He was a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology - University of Nairobi and went on to serve Kenyans in other capacities, vied for Member of Parliament Ugunja constituency, Siaya County in the year 2022. He is an Honorary Lecturer at The University of Nairobi.
