Stop Food Loss and Waste! For the People! For the Planet!

Did you know that 14% of food produced for human consumption is lost between the harvest and retail stages and an additional 17% is wasted at the retail and consumption stages?

Additionally, Food Loss Waste (FLW) has a negative footprint on the environment contributing 8 โ€“ 10% of global greenhouse gases. There is an urgent need to address FLW in the efforts to achieve food and nutrition security in sustainable food systems.ย

Panelists (who are members of the Consortium for Innovations in Post-Harvest Loss and Food Waste Reduction) will share their research efforts to find sustainable and context-specific solutions to FLW. The Webinar will also feature the efforts by the Consortium to bring global thought leaders and researchers together to impact future practices and innovations.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions through a moderated panel discussion.

The Webinar scheduled forย 29thย September 2022ย fromย 2.30 to 3.45 PM (EAT)ย has been organized to mark the 3rd United Nations International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste.
