The Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi in collaboration with Amnesty International are pleased to invite you to the launch of theย Amnesty International Report 2022/23: The State of the Worldโs Human Rightsย to be held onย 28thย March 2023, fromย 5:00 pm to 8:00 pmย at theย University of Nairobi (UON) Towers, Lecture Hall 401. We will also live stream the event.

This yearโs report highlights the emerging trends in the freedom of expression and assembly, excessive use of force and extrajudicial executions, forced evictions, right to health, and womenโs rights, among others. The global report covers 161 countries and focuses on economic, social and cultural rights, rights of internally displaced people, refugees and migrants, discrimination and marginalization, and the climate crisis.

The launch will feature a presentation and an interactive panel discussion on what this yearโs report means for the state of human rights and development in Kenya, Africa and the world. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals.
