Dear colleagues,

You are invited to the launch of Amnesty International Report 2022/23: The State of the World’s Human Rights and Its Impact on Development on March 28th 2023, from 5. 00 pm - 8. 00 pm (In-person)

The Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi in collaboration with Amnesty International are pleased to invite you to the launch of the Amnesty International Report 2022/23: The State of the World’s Human Rights to be held on 28th March 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the University of Nairobi (UON) Towers, Lecture Hall 401. We will also live stream the event.

This year’s report highlights the emerging trends in the freedom of expression and assembly, excessive use of force and extrajudicial executions, forced evictions, right to health, and women’s rights, among others. The global report covers 161 countries and focuses on economic, social and cultural rights, rights of internally displaced people, refugees and migrants, discrimination and marginalization, and the climate crisis.

The launch will feature a presentation and an interactive panel discussion on what this year’s report means for the state of human rights and development in Kenya, Africa and the world. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals.

We hope that you will join us, either physically or virtually and be part of this crucial conversation. Please RSVP by clicking on the button below to confirm your attendance. Space is limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
