The International Day of Persons with Disability celebrations will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the University of Nairobi. This event will be held in collaboration with key stakeholders and strategic partners to ensure active engagement of students and staff with disabilities.

Time: 8.00 am – 1.00 pm
Venue: Taifa Hall, Main Campus
Theme: ’Building an enabling environment where Persons with Disabilities achieve excellence at the University of Nairobi’
Activities
The main activity during the event will be the launch of the University of Nairobi Disability Mainstreaming Strategy for the period, 2023- 2025. We shall convene the University of Nairobi Alumni with disabilities as well as those who work in the disability sector and the University of Nairobi Alumni Association leadership during the launch.
The following specific activities will take place:
- Registration of Persons with disabilities by NCPWD
- Panel Discussion One on: ‘Digital, social and physical accessibility as prerequisites for holistic participation of Persons with disabilities in higher learning institutions’
- Panel Discussion Two on: ‘Research, Innovation and capacity building as Key Pillars for sustainable disability inclusion in higher education’
- Artistic Interludes featuring artists with disabilities in their diversity
- Official Launch of the University of Nairobi Disability Mainstreaming Strategy
