Public lecture on validation of the Serum N-Glycome based biomarker for ovarian cancer

The Head of Department - Prof. E.J. Cheserem, a Consultant Gynecologist/ Obstetrician and Gynae Oncologist, attended a Public lecture on the Validation of the serum N-glycome-based biomarker for ovarian cancer via a multi-centre study in Kenya and Germany by Prof. Veronique Blanchard held on 3rd August 2023 at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UoN, KNH campus - Lecture Theatre 3 from 11:00 a.m.

Wellness forum August edition: Health systems management

The guest speaker for this month's wellness forum was Dr. Githinji Gitahi - Group Chief Executive Officer, AMREF Health Africa.

He is a passionate advocate for pro-poor Universal Health Coverage and joined Amref Health Africa as the Global Chief Executive Officer in June 2015. In December 2018, Dr. Gitahi was bestowed the 2018 ‘Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear’ (MBS) by the President of Kenya in recognition of his outstanding contribution and commitment to the health sector. 

President Elect FIGO meets with The President of the Republic of Kenya

Dr Kihara Anne Beatrice - President Elect FIGO meets with His Excellency The President of The Republic of Kenya Dr. Samoei Ruto C.G.H at State House, Nairobi, Kenya.

She was accompanied by the CS for Health, Members of Parliament, the Council of Governor, the parliament health committee, Kenya Obstetrical Gynaecological Society members (KOGS) and the Human Resource for Health Advisory Council.

Farewell dinner party for the Senior colleagues

A farewell dinner party in honour of our Senior Colleagues who retired recently was held at Tamarind Tree Hotel from 5:30 pm on 17th June 2023.  The University of Nairobi, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology  Prof. Cheserem, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Kenyatta National Hospital Dr. Maureen Owiti and academic staff gave farewell speeches.
