A farewell dinner party in honour of our Senior Colleagues who retired recently was held at Tamarind Tree Hotel from 5:30 pm on 17th June 2023. The University of Nairobi, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prof. Cheserem, Head of Department - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Kenyatta National Hospital Dr. Maureen Owiti and academic staff gave farewell speeches.
The Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prof. Cheserem was creating awareness by talking to a women's group about Reproductive cancers and the need for annual regular medical checkups.
A very fruitful courtesy call with Cabinet Secretary for Health Susan Nakhumicha by President-Elect FIGO Dr. Anne Beatrice Kihara and President KOGS Dr. Kireki Omanwa. She was informed about the next President of FIGO (International Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians). The journey to Paris has started!

The guest speaker for June 2023 wellness forum was Dr. Linda Nyamute on Stress and depression amongst healthcare workers. She is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Kisumu County.
The New European Surgical Academy (NESA) Surgical Workshop Program took place on 28th - 29th April 2023 under the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Health Sciences and Kenyatta National Hospital.
An MOU was signed by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kiama - UoN and Chair of Council of ANHUI Medical University of China. The Chinese delegation later visited the Faculty of Health Sciences and they were received by the acting Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Cheserem (Head of Department -Obstetrics and Gynaecology) 31st May 2023.

Celebrating the 1st anniversary since The Wellness Forum began at Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department.
The guest speaker for this month's wellness forum was Rozy Rana on The Art of public speaking. She is the Managing Director of Dormans Coffee Ltd and was the first person in East Africa to achieve the Distinguished Toastmaster award. She is also a founding member and Past President of the Smart Speak Toastmasters Club.
