Dr. Ezekiel Onyonka Mecha, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi's Department of Biochemistry, has achieved a significant milestone by being appointed to the board of the World Endometriosis Society. As the sole African representative and the first individual from the continent to hold this position, Dr. Mecha's two-year term on the Global Liaison Committee (2023-2025) is a testament to his expertise and commitment to advancing endometriosis awareness and research. 

Ministry of Health adaptation of the World Health Organization (WHO) roadmap on Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) prevention and management meeting was attended by FIGO President - Dr. Kihara Anne Beatrice, Dr. Nyakundi Gwako, Prof. Zahida Qureshi, and Jeniffer Okore as the University of Nairobi team, 25th October 2023 at Naivasha Resort, Kenya.

FIGO President Dr. Kihara Anne Beatrice at her first scientific congress since assuming the presidency of FIGO at the Launch of Endometriosis Surgical Marathon at 3rd Park Hospital yesterday, 17th October 2023, Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr. Kihara Anne Beatrice was inaugurated as the FIGO President yesterday, 12th October 2023 in Paris, France, during the XXIV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics closing ceremony.

XXIV FIGO World Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in Paris, France from 9th – 12th October 2023.

The FIGO World Congress is the largest global event in gynecology and obstetrics. More than 8,000 delegates have gathered at the state-of-the-art Paris Convention Centre to learn, share, build alliances, and shape the future of women’s and reproductive health. There are over 60 countries represented, over 500 expert speakers, and over 200 sessions.

A proposal writing workshop for year 2 - Mmeds Obs/Gyn held at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department Board room from 2nd - 6th October 2023 at 8:00 - 4:00 pm.

The Gynaecological Oncology fellowship and course coordinator, Dr. Kosgei Rose, welcomed the new fellowship students to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology on 25th September 2023. They were also welcomed by their senior fellowship student, Dr. Kilonzo Margaret.
