The department held a manuscript writing workshop for the year four master of medicine students in the department classroom from 24th to 28th June, 2019.

In the manuscript writing workshop, 24 finalist master of medicine in Obs/Gyn students, and one invited ex-student from the department of Anaesthesiology were taught and mentored to write up 1 to 2 manuscripts each from their dissertation work which are now ready for submission for publication.

This great team effort is led by the Department’s Chair, Prof. Omondi Ogutu and the Research team comprised Prof. Ndavi, Dr. Rose Kosgei, Dr. Ann Kihara, Dr. Alfred Osoti, and Dr. George Gwako. Other department faculty were immensely resourceful too for the one on one mentoring essential to run this workshop fruitfully. In attendance were Prof. J. G. Karanja, Dr F. X. O. Odawa, Dr. Kireki Omanwa, Dr. Diana Ondieki, Dr. Alex Bosire and Dr. Margaret Kilonzo.

Out sourced faculty Dr. Ann Pulei an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and a Lecturer in the Department of Annatomy, UoN with wide experience in research was instrumental in the workshop too.

Dr. Paul Koigi, an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and an editor of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, was present too and was greatly useful. Dr Millicient Masinde, Obs/ Gyn Consultant in Kenyatta National Hospital and Dr. Wanjiku, an alumnus of the department were also present as observers.
