Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society - South Rift Branch, 2024 Annual Symposium took place from 30th - 31st August 2024 at the Alps Hotel Milimani, Nakuru.

The South Rift symposium was excellent and appreciation to the presenters, and everyone who attended. The key presenter -

Mary Jahmby Koikai (Fyah Mummah) visited the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and had an opportunity to speak with the ObsGyn residents in October 2023 before her demise this year 2024.

Jahmby Koikai was a reggae MC and an endometriosis advocate.

Gynaecological cancer is a major contributor to cancer mortality among women in Kenya. Kenya therefore needs more skilled professionals to create awareness, provide preventive and curative medical services to address gynaecological cancer.
